Andrea Lauren

London-born artist Andrea Lauren discovered her path in printmaking while completing a Master’s degree in music at Columbia University. Her practice is deeply rooted in the tactile process of relief printing, where she utilizes hand-carved linocuts and silk-screening to build intricate compositions. This foundation in traditional craft has led to collaborations with global brands such as Anthropologie and Valentino Red, as well as a significant presence in digital textile design. Lauren’s work is informed by the nostalgic charm of vintage storybooks and the quiet observations of the natural world. Her pieces often feature animals, sometimes depicted playing musical instruments, set within scenes that evoke folk tales and the outdoors. As the author of the 2016 instructional book Block Print, she remains a dedicated practitioner of the medium, translating hand-carved textures into a wide range of surface patterns and fine art prints.
