Anton Ärlund

Chuck Arlund is a Nashville-based artist whose practice spans photography, painting, and teaching. He has worked professionally as a portrait and fashion photographer since 1998, with clients ranging from international magazines to Nashville musicians. He has taught photography for over fifteen years In 2020, Chuck earned his MFA in Visual Arts from Watkins College of Art at Belmont University. While photography remains central to his practice, in 2022 he began an intensive journey into oil painting as a form of meditation and exploration. His paintings draw from Tonalism, Abstract Expressionism, and personal memory, often blurring the line between intimacy and landscape. Today, Chuck’s work is guided by a search for vulnerability, atmosphere, and the quiet tension between public and private space—whether through the lens of his camera or the brushstrokes of his oil paintings.
