In this composition, the traditional landscape is stripped back to its most visceral elements. A row of slender, dark silhouettes anchors the view, acting as a rhythmic divider between the glowing sky and its reflection. The artist uses a rich palette of oranges and deep shadows to suggest the heat of a fading sun, allowing the colors to bleed into one another in a way that mimics the natural blurring of vision at twilight.

The horizontal orientation emphasizes the vastness of the outdoors, stretching the viewer's gaze across a wide, atmospheric plane. By focusing on the interplay between the verticality of the trees and the flat expanse of the horizon, the work creates a sense of quietude. It is an exploration of how light can simplify a complex environment into a series of evocative, abstract shapes.
