In this portrait, Mathieu utilizes the clarity of digital illustration to create a character that feels both modern and nostalgic. The composition is intentionally sparse, stripping away background noise to center the viewer’s attention on the bear's subtle expression and the soft texture of its headwear. The use of a portrait orientation emphasizes the height of the hat, making it the focal point of this playful character study.

The artwork balances the bold outlines of traditional cartooning with a refined, minimal aesthetic. By leaning into simple shapes and a focused color story, the artist evokes a sense of calm and friendliness. It is a testament to how few details are actually needed to convey a specific mood, relying on the inherent sweetness of the animal subject to connect with the audience.
