Art Analysis
Mirrored grid of nested shapes
Shelly Bremmer builds this geometric modern abstract pattern using a strict grid where the top and bottom halves match exactly. The surface is filled from edge to edge with squares, rectangles, and bars that contain smaller circles and semicircles. These shapes are layered inside one another, creating a flat field of repeating units. The arrangement is balanced and even, with no single area standing out more than the rest.
A closer look reveals a variety of circular forms, ranging from tiny dots to larger rings and solid discs. These are set against a background of pink, yellow, orange, green, and purple. Rather than being solid blocks of color, every shape has a mottled or textured look. The horizontal and vertical bars act as dividers, framing the nested shapes into a dense, two-dimensional map of color.
