In this digital illustration, Katariina Kosunen reimagines the traditional animal portrait through a high-contrast lens. The composition utilizes a landscape orientation to arrange the puppies in a way that feels both structured and spontaneous, echoing the repetitive motifs found in classic pop art. Each figure is defined by bold outlines and a fearless palette, stripping away realistic shading in favor of flat, punchy color blocks that vibrate against one another.

By categorizing these living subjects within a still life framework, the artist invites a closer look at the geometry of their forms. The work balances the warmth of its subjects with a clean, modern execution, focusing on the interplay of light and pigment rather than literal texture. It is a celebration of digital craft that finds joy in the intersection of graphic design and the natural charm of domestic animals.
