In this composition, Böhmer explores the sensory experience of spring through a dense layering of abstract elements. The vertical orientation guides the eye through a thicket of saturated hues and soft, rounded geometries, suggesting the upward growth and bursting life found in nature. Each shape feels intentional yet fluid, contributing to a sense of organized chaos that mimics the natural world’s own complexity.

The palette serves as the primary driver of the work’s emotional resonance, utilizing high-contrast tones to evoke the warmth and brightness of a new season. By stripping away literal representation, the artist focuses on the raw vibration of color and the balance of negative space. The result is a piece that feels deeply rooted in the physical world while remaining firmly anchored in an expressive, non-representational language.
