This piece utilizes a collage aesthetic to break down the traditional sports portrait into a rhythmic arrangement of color and texture. By leaning into a Pop Art sensibility, the artist strips away the polished sheen of typical sports photography, replacing it with saturated hues and weathered edges that suggest a history behind the image. The portrait orientation focuses the viewer’s eye on the physical presence of the athlete, framed by a backdrop of fragmented shapes and bold chromatic shifts.

The vintage influence is palpable in the way the layers overlap, mimicking the look of weathered street posters or classic lithographs. Rather than a static likeness, the work captures a sense of movement and cultural impact, using the sports theme as a foundation for a broader exploration of visual density. It is a study in how color and form can translate the intensity of a stadium atmosphere into a static, graphic medium.
