In this squared composition, Hearn merges the grace of equine anatomy with the vast, cold reaches of deep space. The artwork leans into a surrealist sensibility, placing a familiar creature in an alien environment to evoke a sense of quiet wonder and displacement. By utilizing a retro sci-fi aesthetic, the piece avoids the clinical feel of modern digital renders, opting instead for a texture and palette that suggests the golden age of speculative fiction paperbacks.

The central figure serves as a vessel for exploration, its presence turning the void into a place of movement and life. The interplay between the horse’s silhouette and the surrounding cosmic elements creates a rhythmic balance, grounding the fantastical subject matter through deliberate, illustrative linework. It is a study of solitude and scale, capturing a singular moment of transit across the stars.
