Art Analysis
A rhythmic study in structural depth and geometric logic
In this portrait-oriented composition, Valle explores the tension between two-dimensional space and three-dimensional form. By layering geometric shapes and manipulating shadow, the artist creates a sense of architectural depth that pulls the viewer into a rhythmic, repeating pattern of cubes. The work relies on a clean, graphic logic where every line serves a structural purpose, resulting in a balanced study of symmetry and perspective.
The vertical format emphasizes the upward momentum of the shapes, making the interlocking forms feel like a rising monolith. There is a quiet, meditative quality to the way the angles meet, inviting a closer look at how simple geometry can be used to trick the brain into seeing volume where there is only a flat surface. It is a grounded exploration of spatial relationships and the mechanics of sight.
The piece breaks down its subject into a series of non-representational shapes and bold color fields.
The piece uses high-contrast black and white patterns to create a vibrating sense of depth and movement.
The balanced arrangement of forms creates a sense of order and architectural stability within the portrait frame.
