Art Analysis
Repeating shapes in blue tones
This work fills a square frame with a dense arrangement of geometric forms. Large circles and thick horizontal bars sit at the top and bottom, acting as anchors for the composition. Between these, the center and edges are packed with smaller dots, triangles, squares, and thin diagonal lines. The entire image is flat, showing no depth, and uses a range of blues, teals, and greys against off-white. A mottled texture covers every colored surface, giving the flat shapes a weathered appearance.
The eye moves across the repeating pattern where semi-circles and rectangles meet straight lines. While the artist identifies this as a modern abstract pattern, the specific placement of the thin diagonal lines creates a sense of movement across the middle of the frame. These small elements contrast with the solid, heavy bars at the edges, creating a full edge-to-edge design where no single shape stands alone.
