In this work, Elena Ristova strips away the ornamental to focus on the fundamental power of the rectangle and the square. The composition relies on a deliberate arrangement of shapes that overlap and sit side-by-side, creating a sense of structural integrity. By varying the scale and placement of these blocks, the artist establishes a visual cadence that draws the eye across the portrait orientation in a steady, measured pace.

The palette is unapologetically bold, using a spectrum of hues to define the boundaries of each geometric element. Rather than blending, the colors remain distinct, emphasizing the clean lines and flat planes characteristic of a minimal approach. This clarity of form allows the viewer to appreciate the interplay between light and heavy volumes, resulting in a piece that feels both grounded and energized by its own internal logic.
