In this composition, Böhmer balances the raw aesthetic of natural stone with a refined sense of light. The portrait orientation emphasizes a cascading flow of elements, suggesting a slice of a geode or the play of sunlight across a rocky surface. The palette relies on subtle shifts in tone, allowing the textural details to emerge as the primary focus, creating a sense of depth that invites close observation of its granular intricacies.

There is a rhythmic quality to the way the shapes interact, mimicking the slow, pressurized beauty found in the natural world. By focusing on these abstract mineral forms, the artist captures a moment of stillness and clarity. The work avoids unnecessary clutter, instead leaning into the tactile quality of its subjects to provide a grounding presence for any interior space.
