Art Analysis
Overlapping shapes and mottled colors
This square composition builds a dense pattern through the layering of geometric forms. A large purple triangle sits in the middle of the frame, acting as a central anchor for the surrounding elements. From there, the eye moves outward to find circles, rectangles, and triangles that intersect and overlap across the entire surface. Parallel lines appear in groups, cutting through the larger shapes and adding a sense of direction to the flat, front-facing view.
The color scheme uses green, pink, yellow, purple, and white, but these are not solid blocks of color. Instead, each shape has a mottled and textured look. Small circles and rectangles cluster near the edges of the image, while some circles are nested inside one another. These various sizes and placements create a full, busy surface that reflects the artist’s description of a modern abstract pattern.
