The composition centers on the powerful verticality of the Seljalandsfoss waterfall, set against the expansive horizontal reach of the Icelandic horizon. By positioning the lens behind the cascade, the artist utilizes the water as a natural prism, scattering the low-hanging sun into a rich palette of amber and deep ochre. The dark, craggy textures of the surrounding rock provide a heavy, grounded contrast to the ethereal, translucent quality of the spray.

In this landscape orientation, the scale of the environment is emphasized, allowing the eye to wander from the lush green moss clinging to the cliffs to the distant, saturated sky. The interplay of shadow and saturated light creates a sense of depth that pulls the viewer into the cavernous space behind the falls. It is a study of movement and stillness, where the constant rush of water is frozen into a singular, luminous event.
