Art Analysis
Interlocking blocks and repeated circles
This square composition is built from a dense arrangement of geometric shapes that fill the frame from edge to edge. Vertical columns and interlocking blocks create a grid-like pattern across the entire surface. Orange, lime green, light blue, and white shapes fit together to form a flat, two-dimensional image. Because the shapes are spread evenly across the work, the eye moves across the whole surface rather than resting on one middle spot.
Small circles and thin lines repeat inside the larger rectangular sections, adding detail to the broader blocks of color. Some of these colored areas have a mottled or textured look rather than being solid or smooth. These tiny elements follow the same upright and sideways paths as the larger structure, reinforcing the modern abstract pattern mentioned by Bremmer.
