In this piece, Böhmer explores the coastal landscape through a deliberate vertical perspective, emphasizing the height of the sky and the receding tide. The artist uses a palette that mirrors the natural cooling of the evening, where the warmth of the sun begins to settle into the damp sand and hazy air. Rather than a literal depiction, the work feels like a study of color fields and the subtle gradients found at the edge of the water.

The portrait orientation allows the viewer to experience the scene as a singular, immersive moment of stillness. By stripping away unnecessary detail, Böhmer directs attention to the tactile quality of the environment—the way light filters through salt-heavy air and reflects off the shallow surf. It is an exercise in minimalism that remains deeply connected to the sensory experience of the beach.
