In this squared composition, Marja van den Hurk explores the intersection of wildlife and flora with a distinct illustrative flair. The central toucan is framed by layered botanical elements, where deep greens and vivid petals create a sense of depth and abundance. The digital medium allows for crisp lines and a saturated palette that honors the intensity of the natural world while maintaining a clean, graphic sensibility.

There is a nostalgic quality to the work, leaning into a vintage aesthetic that recalls mid-century scientific illustrations. By focusing on the symmetry and texture of the tropical landscape, the artist invites a close look at the intricate patterns found in nature. The result is a balanced, colorful study that feels both grounded in tradition and fresh in its digital execution.
