In this work, Rakos leans into a high-contrast palette to define the intricate layers of a blooming flower. The composition utilizes a squared orientation to anchor the viewer’s focus, allowing the petals to radiate outward with a sense of rhythmic movement. Each line feels intentional, carving out depth and shadow through deliberate shifts in hue rather than traditional shading.

The piece functions as a study of vitality, where the floral subject is stripped of background distractions to highlight its unique architecture. By filling the frame entirely, Rakos emphasizes the tactile quality of the petals and the vibrant, almost electric atmosphere of a garden in full peak. It is a focused exploration of color as a living force.
