In this digital illustration, Alexandra Weise focuses on the fascinating anatomy of sea slugs, reimagining these small marine creatures as vibrant vessels of pattern. The composition utilizes a squared orientation to create a sense of balance, allowing the eye to wander across the repetitive yet unique textures that define each animal. By stripping away a traditional background, the artist emphasizes the saturated palette and the delicate, undulating forms that characterize these mollusks.

Each creature serves as a canvas for complex arrangements of dots and stripes, highlighting the intersection of nature and graphic design. The work leans into the playful side of biological study, using digital tools to amplify the natural pigments found in the wild. It is an exploration of the small and often overlooked, rendered with a clarity that honors the structural complexity of aquatic life.
