Typographic structure on soft washes
This image presents a central figure built entirely from black lettering and small marks. The text is arranged to form the shape of the Eiffel Tower, standing against a background of overlapping pink and grey washes. These translucent shapes have irregular edges and sit within a white frame. The eye starts at the wide base of the structure, where the largest words are placed, and follows the thinning lines of text upward to the top.
The lettering includes names and phrases in different languages, such as "LA TOUR EIFFEL" and "EIFFELTURM," alongside local references like "CHAMP DE MARS." These words vary in size and orientation to fit the tower's silhouette. Small black dots and splatters are scattered around the bottom of the typographic form, blending into the colored background washes.
This work belongs to a series of watercolor designs that includes a version in turquoise.
