In this squared digital composition, Carla Daly replaces topographical data with character-driven storytelling. The map serves as a vibrant stage for a variety of animals, each rendered with the clean lines and bold colors characteristic of modern illustration. By simplifying the sprawling Canadian wilderness into a series of charming vignettes, the artist invites viewers to explore the country through a lens of wonder and humor.

The piece balances the educational structure of a map with the lighthearted energy of a cartoon. Instead of rigid borders, the focus remains on the sense of movement and travel, using a friendly aesthetic to make the vast scale of the north feel accessible and inviting. Every corner of the frame is filled with small, intentional details that reward a close look, turning a geographic overview into a lively visual adventure.
