In this portrait-oriented map, Carla Daly employs a clean digital style to chart a journey through Germany’s cultural and natural landscape. Rather than focusing on strict topography, the work populates the region with a cast of cartoon animals and stylized architecture, turning a traditional travel tool into a narrative discovery. Each corner of the map offers a small vignette, inviting the viewer to explore the country through a lens of curiosity and warmth.

The use of bold outlines and a cheerful color palette emphasizes the illustrative nature of the piece, making it accessible for travelers of all ages. By blending the informative structure of cartography with the whimsy of character design, Daly creates a visual guide that feels like a storybook page. It is a celebration of place that prioritizes the joy of exploration and the charm of the journey over mere navigation.
