In this portrait-oriented map, Carla Daly reimagines the Netherlands as a vibrant playground of color and character. Using a clean digital art style, she populates the provinces with stylized animals and iconic cultural motifs that give the region a sense of approachability and joy. The composition balances the informative nature of a map with the whimsical energy of a children’s book, making the act of navigation feel like an exploration of a friendly, imagined world.

The artwork relies on bold outlines and a cheerful palette to guide the eye across the Dutch landscape. By integrating cartoon elements into a traditional map format, Daly strips away the formality of cartography, replacing it with a sense of wonder. Each animal and landmark serves as a visual anchor, encouraging a closer look at the small details that define the spirit of travel and discovery within this illustrated terrain.
