In this digital illustration, Carla Daly replaces rigid cartography with a playful, character-driven exploration of the United Kingdom. Each region is defined by a soft color palette and populated by a menagerie of cartoon animals that signal a sense of adventure and friendliness. The portrait orientation allows the islands to stretch across the frame, creating a vertical journey from the Highlands down to the southern coast, all rendered with clean lines and a cheerful, graphic sensibility.

The piece functions as both a decorative map and an educational tool, inviting viewers to trace paths across a landscape filled with whimsical details. By blending the informative nature of a travel map with the imaginative depth of children's book illustration, Daly captures the excitement of a road trip. The artwork avoids the clutter of traditional atlases, opting instead for a spacious, airy composition that focuses on the spirit of travel and the charm of the natural world.
