In this portrait-oriented map, Deificus employs a strict minimalist aesthetic to redefine how we visualize travel and location. By removing topographic textures and traditional cartographic labels, the work focuses entirely on the interplay between negative space and the intricate web of city streets. The high-contrast palette emphasizes the unique jaggedness of the Qingdao coastline, turning a functional tool into a rhythmic, abstract pattern of black and white.

The piece functions as both a digital illustration and a modern memento of place. It avoids the dense ornamentation often found in historical maps, opting instead for a clean, architectural approach that highlights the skeletal beauty of urban planning. The result is a grounded representation of the city that feels both deeply specific to its physical coordinates and elegantly simplified for the eye.
