In this work, the garden is not merely a backdrop but a living, breathing entity. Goggin focuses on the intricate relationship between the butterfly and its environment, using a portrait orientation to emphasize the vertical reach of stems and the upward flight of its subjects. The composition feels dense and intentional, pulling the eye through a thicket of color and light that mirrors the organized chaos of a thriving ecosystem.

The artist avoids a static representation of nature, opting instead for a style that suggests the constant vibration of life. Each element is layered to create a sense of depth, making the viewer feel as though they are standing amidst the tall grass. By isolating this specific moment in a garden, the artwork celebrates the small, often overlooked intersections of insect and petal that define the vitality of the outdoors.
