In this portrait-oriented composition, Goggin explores the intersection of wildlife and botanical abundance. The hummingbird is not merely a subject but a catalyst for the surrounding environment, its presence suggested through a vivid palette that mimics the iridescent quality of its feathers. The garden space is treated with a sense of organized chaos, where floral forms and foliage press toward the edges of the frame, creating a deep immersion into a private, sun-drenched sanctuary.

The vertical orientation emphasizes the upward reach of the garden, guiding the eye through layers of texture and light. By focusing on the frantic yet graceful interaction between bird and bloom, the artist captures the fleeting pulse of a living ecosystem. The work avoids mere decoration, instead offering a visceral encounter with the brightness and frantic life found in a hidden corner of the outdoors.
