In this composition, Marja van den Hurk explores the delicate interplay between floral motifs and open space. The squared orientation provides a stable anchor for the fluid, airy movements of the botanical elements, allowing each bloom to breathe within its own pocket of the canvas. The artist avoids rigid structure, opting instead for a rhythmic arrangement that suggests the natural sway of a meadow in a quiet breeze.

The visual language leans into a dreamlike softness, where the boundaries between the subject and the background begin to dissolve. By focusing on the whimsical qualities of nature, the work prioritizes a feeling of lightness and ease. The symmetry of the square format focuses the eye inward, encouraging a slow, meditative observation of the subtle shifts in color and form that define this imagined landscape.
