Art Analysis
A rhythmic explosion of botanical color and texture
In this squared acrylic painting, Flores navigates the boundary between botanical life and total abstraction. The work is built on a foundation of intense, varied hues that suggest a landscape in mid-bloom, utilizing the heavy body of the medium to create a surface that feels alive with movement. Rather than defining individual petals, the artist uses clusters of color to mimic the chaotic, joyful sprawl of a flower bed.
The composition benefits from its balanced orientation, allowing the viewer to get lost in the rhythmic application of paint. By stripping away traditional perspective, Flores focuses entirely on the sensory experience of a garden—the brightness, the density, and the overlapping textures. It is a celebration of color as a physical presence, turning a simple natural subject into a complex field of visual energy.
A saturated and diverse color palette drives the energy of the piece, creating a lively atmosphere through sheer visual volume.
The artist interprets nature through gestural marks and shapes rather than realistic botanical illustration.
Andersson exploits the fast-drying nature of the medium to build a complex, physical surface that retains the energy of its application.
